Student Testimonials

As an acting teacher, Geo was precise, and yet very flexible. He was patient and always available to the students at any time if they needed anything. His passion for the craft was always palpable in the work, and I felt that as a class we were very committed and excited to work. We all gelled immediately, and that harmony was in no small part due to the quality of the professorship displayed by Geo. I always felt like we were doing work that was important and valuable, and even more so, I felt like I was being heard and understood every day in the class. I would suggest Geo as an acting teacher for any actor, whether new to the craft or seasoned!

I was able to push myself, really feel the emotion and the script. He teaches in a very genuine and straight forward way as an acting professor should. He had a way of knowing if we did not reach our full potential during scenes and constantly changing it or adding something in allowed for us to work and move on the spot.

Just as a person, Geo is not afraid to reach out and try to understand you if something is wrong. He is relatable and has this ease to him that makes you feel that you can open up to him. Now in the classroom, this is evident as well, as he gives his students his time after class and will stop what he is doing to listen if you need help. I am no longer a student in his class, but the kindness of Geo is still apparent even years later.

Geo not only taught me the valuable skills used to perform a successful scene however, he was also part of my support system.

Prof Jones was by far the coolest and nicest professor I’ve ever had at Brooklyn college. He was always enthusiastic and brought great energy to the classroom. He was an amazing actor and really taught me how to express my feelings through acting. This class has had an amazing impact on my life, fast forward two years later and here I am trying to pursue a career in acting.

There are a handful of classes that I will always remember throughout my 4 years at BC and Geo’s “Intro to Acting” was definitely one of them. This class forces us as a group out of our comfort zones making for a true bonding experience.

Geo was very patient with everyone including me and whenever anyone or myself had a question, he had an answer for it. He was super fun to work with and I would love to work with him whether its as an actor or stage manager because even watching his process with helping the actors, I’m able to use what he has taught them, in my own acting. He was definitely super fun to work with!
